What is TAIL?
TAIL (Transparent AI Involvement Label) is a voluntary content labeling system that shows the role artificial intelligence played in the creation of a piece of content.
TAIL was created to provide a simple, transparent, and universal way for audiences to understand how much AI contributed to a project. The system can be used for games, films, music, texts, images, online publications, printed media, and many other forms of creative work.
TAIL does not judge content or discourage the use of AI. Its purpose is simply to provide clear information about the creation process and increase transparency for audiences.
What is the purpose of TAIL?

TAIL System
The rapid development of artificial intelligence has made it increasingly difficult to determine how content is created. Audiences often do not know whether they are viewing a work created entirely by a human, a collaboration between a human and AI, or content generated almost entirely by artificial intelligence.
TAIL was created to address this issue by introducing a simple and easy-to-understand informational standard. It allows creators to voluntarily disclose the role AI played in their work while giving audiences the information needed to better understand how a piece of content was produced.
The system is also intended to help people who have difficulty recognizing AI-generated content, improve transparency in the creative process, and support trust between creators and their audiences.
TAIL is not designed to censor, restrict, or rank creative work. Every label is neutral and serves an informational purpose only.
TAIL Labels
TAIL labels indicate the level of AI involvement in the creation of content.
Creators are free to decide where and how the label will be displayed.

The content was created without the use of AI at any stage of the creative process. Every element of the project was produced entirely through human work.

Artificial intelligence was used as a supporting tool during the creative process, but its output is not directly visible in the final content.
This label may be used when AI assisted with tasks such as research, consultation, proofreading, or project organization.

Artificial intelligence was directly involved in creating some of the elements visible or audible to the audience, while a significant portion of the project was still created by a human.
This label may be used when AI contributed to selected elements such as graphics, text fragments, music, voice recordings, or sound effects.

Most of the content, or its key elements, were generated by artificial intelligence, while the human role was primarily limited to prompting, selecting results, editing, or publishing the material.
This label is intended for works whose main content was created by AI systems.
How to Use TAIL Labels
Creators who choose to implement the TAIL system in their creative process should follow a few basic guidelines to ensure labels are used correctly.
Visibility
A TAIL label should be easy for the audience to find and read. Creators may choose any presentation format, but the label should be clearly accessible to viewers or readers, for example as a graphic in a corner, a note in a description, or an attachment to a file.
Pictogram
If a creator chooses to use a graphical TAIL label, it should include the correct pictogram assigned to the selected TAIL level. A proper graphical label contains the pictogram on the far left or far right side, next to the heading and description.
Heading
A proper TAIL label contains a heading consisting of the TAIL level and the corresponding title. Both should appear in the same line.
Example:
“TAIL-0 – No AI Involvement”
Description
Below the heading, creators should provide a short description explaining how AI was used in the project according to the selected label type. The description does not need to be highly detailed, but it should be truthful and accurate. Example: “AI was used to generate the narrator’s voice.”
